Food For Thought: Kona Cafe

Writer's picture: Theresa Theresa

Kona Cafe might just be my favorite place to go for breakfast when I'm at Disney World. I love heading over to the Polynesian Resort any chance I get, and if I happen to be staying at the Polynesian Kona is super easy breakfast option before heading into the parks.

I've only ever had breakfast at Kona, but I've heard really great things about their lunch and dinner options. The breakfast menu is pretty straight forward, but the most popular option on the menu has to be the Tonga Toast. It's a breakfast item specific to the Polynesian resort, and it's basically a block of sourdough french toast coated in cinnamon and sugar and stuffed with bananas. They also give you this super yummy strawberry sauce that you can drizzle on top.

Other than the Tonga Toast, you can get French Toast, a Ham and Cheese Omelet, Loco Moco (a "traditional island brunch staple"), Two Eggs Any Style, Polynesian Egg Platter, Macadamia Nut Pancakes, and the Seven Seas Samoan (poached eggs with pulled pork). They also have this delicious juice called the Liliko'i Juice which is a blend of orange, mango, and pineapple! You can see the full menu here.

If you get the chance I definitely recommend heading over to Kona Cafe for one of your meals. The food is really delicious and the atmosphere is laid back and casual. It's a great place to start your morning or end your night. If you're curious about the other offerings at the Polynesian Resort head over to my resort tour article!
