I'm back with a super fun review of mobile ordering in the Disney parks! This feature was very new to me, and I had a really good time testing it out. A few months ago Disney announced that through the My Disney Experience App you would be able to order food at select quick service locations through your phone. Think Starbucks App but in Disney World.
I was a little skeptical about this at first. Yes, it would be a good way to cut the lines, but how long would you have to wait before your meal was ready? I was eager to try it though, so when I went to Disney World in March I decided to try it for lunch in the Magic Kingdom at Casey’s Corner. All that said, my experience using this new feature was super positive, and I would highly recommend doing this if you want to eat somewhere that gets crowded during peak mealtimes (ie. lunch and diner).
The first thing to do is go to the Dining section of the MDEA and search for the location you want to order from, but do keep in mind that only a few places in the parks offer mobile ordering right now. Next, select the “Order Food” icon.

After this step it will bring you to the menu. From here you can select whatever you want and add it to your order.

After you finish your selection you can review it before going to the order summary.
When you click order summary you can view your meal one last time before you order it. My Visa card was already connected to my account so it showed up on this page, which was really nice, but if yours isn’t it will prompt you to fill in your credit card info.

After you place your order it will bring you to a screen that will prompt you to say when you are nearby so they can start preparing your order.

After that the app lets you know they are getting your order ready. I didn’t exit out of this screen because I wasn’t sure where I could get back to it, but in the end I got a notification from the app that my order was ready, so I could have exited out of the app if I wanted to. Just make sure you have your notifications turned on.

As you can see in this picture the screen changed to let me know it was ready, but I also got a notification as well. I’m not even kidding my order was ready about five seconds after I said that I was nearby, so it was super fast and I was really surprised. I was only ordering for one person, so if you want more food or are ordering for a family it may take a bit longer, but it definitely beats waiting on those lines.

When I got to Casey’s Corner it was super packed with people getting lunch, the line was out the door and they had a cast member standing there for crowd control. Casey’s Corner is always pretty crowded, so I was lucky I could skip the lines. I walked over to the end counter, showed them my order confirmation on the app, and they gave me my food!
Honestly, it was such a great experience and I would highly recommend it. My food was ready so fast and I didn’t have to wait in any lines. I would definitely suggest doing this for somewhere super crowded like Casey’s Corner, it’s definitely worth it and it’s so easy if you have the MDEA! Two thumbs up, 10/10 would recommend!
