One of the newer additions to Disney World, and one of the most beautiful spots in all the parks, is Pandora in Animal Kingdom. I’ve never seen the movie Avatar but you don’t need to to appreciate the beauty of this section of the park! The theming is wild–it’s so consistent and the colors are magnificent. The floating mountains are also insanely cool. Every little detail in this park makes it that much more immersive, and if you head to this section at night almost everything glows with what’s supposed to look like bioluminescence. It’s really neat!
And all of that is without mentioning the new attractions Disney put into Pandora. They are absolutely wild. Na'vi River Journey is so beautiful and takes you through the wilderness of Pandora. The animatronics and projections in this attraction look so real–it’s pretty crazy. The most coveted FastPass in Pandora, however, is Flight of Passage. This ride takes you on the back of a Banshee as you soar through the sky. It’s crazy amazing how good the theming in this ride is. I would definitely say it is comparable to Soarin’ but definitely more intense, so that is something to consider when thinking if you want to wait on that line!
The quick service in Pandora is Satu’li Canteen, and it’s really delicious! They only have a few options from bowls where you can pick a grain, meat/protein/veggie, and dressing, and steamed bao buns with either a curry or cheeseburger filling. But everything they do have is very tasty! Click here for the full menu. (They also have a kids menu!) There is also a small snack window called Pongu Pongu with a pineapple and cream cheese spring roll and a few different drink options, the most famous of which is the Night Blossom.
Pandora is one of the best places to practice your Disney landscape photography. There are so many beautiful things to photograph, and you'll never run out of things to look at. So, without further ado, here are some photos that I've taken at Pandora: The World of Avatar.
